Kirmen Uribe: contemporary Basque poetry in New YorkBorn in 1970 in Ondarroa (Biscay), Kirmen Uribe is a poet, novelist, essay writer and playwright. He has translated the poems of Raymond Carver, Sylvia Plath, Wislawa Symborska and Mahmud Darwix into Basque amongst others, and has taken part in many multimedia projects combining poetry, music and plastic arts.
