Aurkikuntza ezberdinek hori frogatzen dute, hala nola Passemard-enek, 1921ean sai hezurrez egin hamasei flauta atxeman baitzituen Isturitzeko harpeetan. Goi-paleolitikoak dira, hots bederen Jesus-Kristo baino aitzineko 10 000 urteko garaikoak.
