ELGAR OINKAELGAR OINKA was created in 1971 by the choreograph Jesus Luis Esnaola. The group began with just 10 girls who believed in his original creations. He adapted steps from Basque traditional dances to popular music such as the Tanborrada, Agur Xiberua, Iñudeak, Hazparne, etc. The group currently has 80 dancers who perpetuate his work (continued by Koxemari Arregi after his death) and who have added dances from the 7 Basque provinces to their repertoire. |
